The Site is a distributor (and not a publisher) of content supplied by third parties. Any opinions, advice, statements, services, offers, or other information or content expressed or made available by third parties, including article authors and other users of the Site, are those of the respective author(s) or distributor(s) and not of New York University or JIPEL.

New York University and JIPEL neither endorse nor are responsible for the accuracy or reliability of any opinion, advice or statement made on the Site by any third party. Under no circumstances will New York University or JIPEL be liable for any loss or damage caused by your reliance on information obtained through the Site.  It is your responsibility to evaluate the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any information, opinion, advice or other content available through the Site.  Please seek the advice of professionals, as appropriate, regarding the evaluation of any specific information, opinion, advice or other content.

JIPEL respects the law, property rights, and the dignity of others, and so should you.  The Site encourages discussion and even heated debate, but in a community full of opinions and preferences, people always disagree.  Like any community, the online conversation flourishes only when participants feel welcome and safe.  If you choose to post or transmit content, including, but not limited to, comments, forum messages, reviews, text, video, audio, images and photographs, as well as computer code and applications (each, a “Submission”), you agree as follows:

(a)     You agree not upload to, or distribute or otherwise publish on to the Site any libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, abusive, or otherwise illegal material;

(b)     You agree not to violate, plagiarize, or infringe upon the rights of any third party, including copyright, trademark, or privacy, publicity, or other personal proprietary rights;

(c)     You will be courteous and agree not to threaten or verbally abuse others, use defamatory language, or deliberately disrupt discussions with repetitive messages, meaningless messages or “spam”;

(d)     You will use respectful language and agree not to use language that abuses or discriminates on the basis of race, religion, nationality, gender, sexual preference, age, region, disability, etc.;

(e)     You may debate, but agree not to make personal attacks;

(f)     You acknowledge that any Submissions you make to the Site may be edited, removed, modified, published, transmitted, and displayed by New York University or JIPEL and you waive any rights you may have in having the material altered or changed in a manner not agreeable to you; and

(g)     You are solely responsible for the content of your Submissions. However, while New York University and JIPEL do not and cannot review every Submission and are not responsible for the content of these messages, New York University and JIPEL reserve the right in their sole discretion to refuse to post, delete, move, or edit any Submission that they, in their sole discretion, find to be in violation of the provisions hereof or otherwise objectionable.
